Kim Kardashian is more like a typical mom than anyone might think as The Kardashians star had to stop her interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to scold her kids for misbehaving in the audience. Despite backlash and an ongoing trademark fight, Kim officially launched her skincare line SKKN on June 21 and stopped by the New York City-based talk show to promote it. The reality TV star was hit with a cease-and-desist letter in 2021 when she first trademarked the brand name because esthetician Cydnie Lunsford already owns a Brooklyn-based skincare boutique called SKKN+ and feels Kim’s brand could negatively impact her business.
The Kardashians star also faced criticism for having a similar brand name to Lori Harvey’s SKN, for her overpriced products and for misleading fans with her fake refillable packages. However, Kim is not one to back down and has moved forward with launching her brand and promoting it. Before her interview, Kim went live on Instagram, where she reprimanded her children for misbehaving in the car. Kim tried talking to her fans, but her sons, Saint and Psalm West, screamed in the background and yelled disrespectful comments at the camera.
Unfortunately, Kim’s sons did not settle down when it was time for her to do her interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and she ended up having to scold them again. During Jimmy’s interview, the Kardashians star and the host were discussing her October Saturday Night Live hosting gig and her lack of knowledge about the show when they were interrupted by her children. “I’m hearing kids,” Jimmy said right before the cameras cut to Saint, Psalm and her friend’s daughter Remi. “Guys, can you stop?” Kim begged. “This is your first time at work with me. Can you please?” While Kim may have been irritated by her children, the audience immediately started cheering for them.
“Guys, this is your first time at work with me. Don’t mess this up,” Kim added. The SKIMS founder then went on to explain to Jimmy how she gave her eldest daughter, North West, a special 9th birthday celebration. Unfortunately, she had to stop the interview again because her kids didn’t listen to her first two pleas. Psalm was then taken backstage to avoid any more interruptions. Luckily, after her youngest son left, Kim was finally able to finish her interview interruption-free.
Kim is certainly not a typical mom, but like all mothers, she still has to deal with unpredictable behavior from her children. No matter how famous Kim is, her children always seem immune to professional training. Luckily, the SKKN founder handled the situation like a pro and was able to continue talking to Jimmy and showing off her new skincare line. Though the crowd didn’t seem to mind, The Kardashians star will likely think twice before bringing her children to work with her again.
